(Bloomberg) — Everyone runs into death and taxes. New Jerseyans trundle on toward an afterlife in tax hell.

“I can afford to retire here,” said Susan Barbey, a 60-year-old resident of Ridgewood, about 20 miles (32 kilometers) from Manhattan. “I can’t afford to die here.” (Young/Bloomberg)

  1. Another reason to leave NJ.

  2. We are running out of reasons to stay.

  3. I need to get out of Ridgewood. A family with three kids can buy my house.

  4. Hold on a second. Don’t pack so fast. The town will build towering edifices in the CBD and huge automated ;parking decks.

Our taxes then will go way down. It will be well worth, trying to navigate the super congested narrow streets, and the traffic deaths that result.

Meanwhile, as Pucciarelli advises at last council meeting, divert your bicycle route from the Duck Pond bike path, and ride the new bike lanes under the trains on Franklin Ave. Do this during rush hour, now that spring is coming the weather should be great for biking.

  5. Living in Ridgewood poses no problem ,but estate taxes do and our big mouth governor only pays lip service and does nothing.

  6. Ummm apparently you are as clueless as every public sector worker who things the state has unlimited funds 752, our gov can replace the funds expected from the inheritance tax revenue by firing state employees and reducing benefits.
