Commuters simply cant take the Bridgegate Scandal Serious

So its been one year since the so called GWB Scandal and mean while commuters continue to suffer the daily delays with hardly a peep from the press .Its funny how 50 years on non stop traffic delays only get noticed the one time a third rate politician gets inconvenienced .

The George Washington Bridge, recently associated with a political scandal, has been  a symbol of frustration and gridlock for daily commuters for years .

As a reminder on Thursday June 11th traffic stalled in New Jersey and New York following an early-morning fatal crash on the GWB . Two tractor-trailers heading east crashed shortly after 2 a.m. on the bi-level bridge’s upper deck. Port Authority Police reported that the driver in the rear truck died when the vehicle became wedged under the other truck’s trailer. Port Authority Police Capt. Ron Shindel went on to say the driver in the lead truck was emotionally shaken and was taken to a hospital .

While September 11 will be the anniversary of the 9/11 Islamic terrorist murder of 3000 American citizens , it will also be the 2 month anniversary of the death of one truck driver killed on the GWB resulting in a 7 hour back up  .

Governor Chris Christie meanwhile wrote off Democrats’ Bridgegate anniversary calling it “nakedly partisan” and commuters had stronger language for it ,namely self-serving , stupid ,out of touch and offensive.

  1. As the Record broke this inane story that has no ending they ought to reimburse the Sierra Club for all the wasted pulp on this story. Perhaps they can raise subscription rates to compensate for unnecessary legal fees. So a couple of incompetent subservients create a mess-is that the first time beauracrats had a bad playday (or four). They are traditionally meddlers of everything & masters of nothing. The right thing was done & they were fired. Unfortunately the politicians need to be rounded up & set in a more useful direction. Let’s break the news: It’s Over.

  2. MSNBC should also reimburse for all the electricity they wasted doing nightly broadcasts on this to their 19 viewers.

  3. There is not a day that goes by that the Record doesn’t try to make the Governor look bad.
I do not recall the same level of coverage for McGreevy scandals, or those of Corzine and Florio.
Oh wait, Democrats get a “pass’ in the state of New Jerkey.

  4. Christie stories have probably kept The Patch alive. They would run non-story articles every other day of Christie knowing that everyone one of them would generate an avalanche of comments from their lefty reader base, thereby helping their ad-rates.

  5. This might be unrelated but I’ve gone into NYC 3x in the last 3 months.

I still can’t get over how few people have EZ Pass.

I’m going to guess and say that only 25% of the people crossing the GWB have EZ Pass.

My point is the lane closure stunt might’ve been a non-event if more people used EZ Pass…

I always wonder the same thing every time I breeze through the toll lane, while watching the huge back-up for the cash lanes. Are people really that stupid? I surely can’t be that so many people have lost the use of their credit cards.

Those long lines are filled with adulterers who don’t want to have a paper trail that their spouses can follow. Not joking here either.

  8. But if you want to be adulterous you can still have EZP….just shoot into the Cash line when you’re heading to your paramour’s crib.

  9. I think the lack of EZ Pass use comes down to the high levels of dysfunctionalism that has overtaken society. People are typically reluctant to go through the online application process and setting up their credit cards. It just becomes one of those “I’ll get to that” projects that never happens. It’s no dfferent from the numbskulls who pay for bus and train tickets for each ride instead of buying that expensive monthly which actually saves you about 50%. Many people live in the now.
