They wore ponchos…..that’s tough.
Congrats anyway…!
Real smart planning. Everyone knew was gonna rain. Have inside .
Funny story. At the RHS Class of 2019 graduation ceremony this evening, the Ridgewood school district superintendent was waxing rhapsodic during his speech, referencing the anniversary of the Greenwich Village Stonewall riots that occurred 50 years ago this month.
He’s in full progressive peacock mode, shamelessly virtue signalling about how far we’ve come as a society. By this time, though, it’s raining pretty steadily, and people are getting pretty impatient with him. Mercifully, his microphone cuts out and he is electronically struck dumb. The assembled audience then starts oohing and aahhing, gaping in awe at an enormous rainbow that has appeared over the entire High School building. It is truly remarkable how deftly God can recover, for his own use, and anytime he feels like doing so, the beautiful and spiritually uplifting seal of the Noahic covenant.
All the parents where I was sitting, and the kids I spoke with, couldn’t have cared less about a light rain for part of the ceremony. I guess some anonymous posters can find anything to complain about.
wow did you miss the point ?
My son graduated several years ago with storm clouds clearly moving in during the ceremony. Mark Bombace had a written speech and gave the whole thing. I sat there amazed how the President of the Board of Education wasn’t smart enough to cut his remarks short so as to allow the graduates to avoid the rain. The crowd would have cheered!
