Lyndhurst, NJ — A Dallas man has been charged with multiple crimes after allegedly meeting a Bergen County child and an adult on Snapchat and coercing them into sending sexually explicit photos and videos, authorities announced.
According to the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, Quristafer D. Land, of Dallas, Texas, is facing charges including:
-
First-degree production of child sexual abuse material
-
Second-degree aggravated sexual extortion
-
Third-degree sexual extortion
-
Third-degree impersonation
How Authorities Uncovered the Snapchat Sextortion
In April 2025, the Lyndhurst Police Department tipped off the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Cyber Crimes Unit about possible online sexual extortion.
Investigators said Land used Snapchat to contact both an adult and a child, instructing them over several months to record and send sexually explicit photos and videos.
Detectives later traced the activity to a residence in Dallas, Texas.
Multi-Agency Investigation Leads to Arrest
With the help of the Dallas Police Department and U.S. Marshals, investigators executed a search warrant at Land’s home.
Authorities say they confirmed that Land controlled the Snapchat account used in the scheme and had extorted the victims. He also allegedly created fake accounts using other people’s identities.
Land was arrested last Thursday and booked into the Dallas County Jail, where he awaits extradition to New Jersey.
Prosecutors Warn of Growing Online Sextortion Cases
The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office continues to stress the dangers of social media exploitation, urging parents and guardians to monitor online activity closely and report suspicious behavior immediately.
