Darlington County Park Lakes Reopen Memorial Day Weekend for Swimming and Splash Zone Fun

Mahwah NJ,  just in time for summer, Darlington County Park is set to reopen its popular swimming lakes and Wibit Splash Zone on Saturday, May 24 at 10 a.m., according to Bergen County officials.

Bergen County’s Beloved Swimming Lakes Return for 2025 Season

Located at the base of the Ramapo Mountains, Darlington County Lakes offer one of North Jersey’s most scenic and family-friendly spots for summer recreation. Residents and non-residents alike can enjoy three lakes, white sand beaches, and the popular Wibit Splash Zone, a floating water obstacle course available to anyone over 39 inches tall (for an additional fee).

“After record-breaking attendance last year, Darlington County Park has truly established itself as Bergen County’s summertime gem,” said Bergen County Executive Jim Tedesco. “We are excited to welcome residents and visitors alike back to Darlington to enjoy its 124 acres, swimming lakes, and our most popular attraction, the Wibit Splash Zone.”

2025 Darlington Lake Operating Schedule

  • Opening Day: Saturday, May 24 (Memorial Day Weekend), 10 a.m.

  • Weekend Hours (Pre-Season): Saturdays & Sundays from May 24–June 22, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

  • Daily Operation: Begins Monday, June 23 through Labor Day (Sept. 1), 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Payment Options and Admission Fees

For the 2025 season, cash and all major credit cards will be accepted. Bergen County residents enjoy discounted rates compared to out-of-county visitors.

Weekday Rates:

  • Adults (18–61): $10 (in-county)

  • Children: $8 (in-county)

  • Seniors (62+): $3 (in-county)

Weekend, non-resident, and Wibit Splash Zone fees vary and are higher. A full pricing chart is available on the Bergen County Parks Department website.

  1. Just be careful driving on Darlington Avenue. This COUNTY road is full of potholes, depressed manhole covers, and overfilled potholes. The County is short of tax funds to fix the COUNTY roads, and it is run by an incompetent County Executive. Use caution.
