Just weeks after receiving site plan approval from the Planning Board, a real estate developer has obtained the endorsement for a major soil moving permit from the Ridgewood Council.
Council members last week established several conditions while granting the engineering firm representing Burroughs Poole LLC the permit and permission to begin the excavation and grading required for a proposed retail shopping center. The project will be situated at two currently vacant lots along Route 17 south near Paramus Road in Ridgewood.

About time…………….
Thankfully we will get some ratables instead of another soccer field.
hopefully someone will be checking the soil and seeing where it comes from so it’s not contaminated…
I hope so too.
Amazing; just try and get the smallest project done at your home and you wait MONTHS!!! for them to even look at your plans. A Ridgewood joke! It’s who you know as usual.
#5 Amen. The building department is broken for the average citizen. There is a mean spirited, angry, beaurocratic attitude towards residents that starts with the Zoning Officer and pervades the department with a few exceptions. What a way to go through life…
I had a project that required a permit, site plan, electrical and plumbing inspections. Plans took about 3 weeks to get approved.
Inspections were scheduled about 2 weeks out.
Is that unacceptable? It didn’t bother me at all. What are other’s experiences?
thats why I just do what i got to do , fuck it.
