Did Mohammed Mahmoud Lie at the LWV Debate Night?

Ridgewood NJ, A question was asked last night at the LWV Candidate Night about the candidates voting history in Ridgewood.

All candidates responded “yes” to a question and said they have voted in EVERY local election since they moved to Ridgewood.
Looking at the online records, it can be verified that Mohammed was not even a registered voter in Ridgewood until Sept 2019 when he was appointed to the board by his buddy Kaufman. He transferred his voter registration to Ridgewood in 2019 when he was appointed to the board and being a registered voter in Ridgewood was a pre-requisite for this appointment.
So, he not only has not attended any BOE meetings except to ask for a holiday, but he also lied last night about his voting record in Ridgewood elections at a public debate.

  1. Where is his mask?
The most interesting part of the debate was when Mamood disowned his buddy Chris.

  2. Did Chris really say last night that seniors are not allowed to run for the board because they don’t have a current student in school system? Was that a dig against Sheila?
What a hypocrite. His own son goes to a private school because he did not like the minority coach.

  3. Yes he lied. He also lied that he doesn’t share the platform with Cris.
By definition, when you are bracketed, you share the platform. It’s not like other years when candidates shared campaign expenses, these two are actually BRACKETED on the ballot, which means common platform.

  4. He’s a smug cocky liar doing this for some unknown reason. Shady creep.
Ck is an aggressive angry overbearing actual moron. Like perhaps actually qualifies for that designation on an IQ scale.

  5. The question was about having votes in recent elections with recent not being defined. All of the candidates mumbled something or other . . . there were no individual statements made by the candidates so no opportunity to explain any deficiencies or ask about time-frames. This question was just a mish-mash of Q&A.

  7. You all are shaking in your boots. You lie. Let’s get that straight. I will take not voting in an election over a person not having kids in or have gone through our school system ANY day. She has no connection to our schools. Let’s be clear about that. It showed last night. Out of touch. She was nervous. She keeps beating the drum about late school start. Those elementary and middle school parents take the nimby attitude UNTIL their kids get to high school. Then all of the sudden little Tommy is too busy and stressed to perform to parents standards and they feel lack of sleep is contributing to not getting all A’s.

  8. Hey MM and CK . . . kids have been smoking in the bathrooms since I was in HS in the early 1970’s. You don’t need a child in schools to know this. It’s laughable.

  9. Why does Sheila continue to do this…?

It’s odd to say the least.

  10. Sheila is the most qualified in the bunch.

  11. “She has no connection to our schools. Let’s be clear about that. ” Uhmmmmm, HJ is a taxpayer so 66% of her taxes go to RPS . Additionally, her children were in RPS but moved to a different school because RPS could not accommodate their professional schedules (Broadway).

  12. I will say it again – she has no connection to out schools. Go be on another board.

  13. The debate was brutal. Trustees are not there to espouse policy- they are there for oversight.

Seems that Kwak is the only one who gets that. Madison is next and the fest are lost.

Mamood is nothing but a spender and Kaufman is, well, he is an idiot.

  14. Mamood had all the “corporate ideas” because he has not attended any meetings and doesn’t understand how the school system works.

  15. Debate doesn’t matter. It’s November election. Murphy voters will vote on column 1, Jack voters will vote on column 2, so Kaufman and Madison are going to win. The race is between column 3, 4, & 5 for the third seat.

  16. “II will say it again – she has no connection to our schools. Go be on another board.” 1. This isn’t a board, it’s a blog. 2. SHE’S ON THE BOE, YOU IDIOT. OW IS THAT NO CONNECTION TO THE SCHOOLS? ADDITIONALLY, SHE’S A TAXPAYER WHOSE HAD A CHILD AT RIDGE. YES, SHE”S HAD A CHILD IN RPS.

  18. MM should have never associated himself with C. Kaufman. BIG BIG MISTAKE.

  19. Ugh. I am bullet voting for Ms. Kwak (placing a total of one vote for BOE).

  20. I’m bullet voting for ms. Kwak also.

  21. Kaufman, Mohammad and Shelia are the only way to go. Kwak has no kids in our school system. Pulled them out of ridge a long time ago. Do not be fooled be “she had a child at ridge” as mentioned above. “Had” is the key word there. That was years ago. She and her husband(Steve Kim) have a serious axe to grind with RPS and it shows. And person above who mentioned that – are you drinking? Why so triggered by some peoples comments that you have to scream. Geez. Get some anger management therapy. This is a blog. Only a blog. By a person who doesn’t even pay taxes in Ridgewood. Sigh.

    1. Shelia does not have kids in school

  22. Every time Mahmoud answered a question he said a lot of words and said nothing. He tossed his “buddy” Chris Kaufman under the bus and disassociated himself from him, I’m surprised that Chris didn’t pause and ask the moderator if he can treat Mahmoud as a ‘hostile witness’, it is evident that even Mahmoud recognizes that Chris Kaufman is severely under qualified to be on the board, and essentially an embarrassment.

The two bracketed candidates present a “joke” and “danger” to Ridgewood at large. Mahmoud, a reasonably intelligent, but sorely misinformed and misguided candidate did himself no favor by running with Kaufman. Having either of these two, forbid both, on the board, would mean years of disfunction and board members who want to “run” the school and insert their personal “feelings” into the mix.

When you they talk about school curriculum for example, they have absolutely zero qualifications and also it’s not their call, as board members they hired a “CEO” aka/the Superintendent, the Superintendent hires/has qualified staff, one of which is a “Curriculum Director”, the CEO with his/her staff research/recommend/and bring forth the curriculum (this is a product, that the school purchases) and the school board approves or disapproves the purchase, in the event of the later, the CEO goes back to the well, with his/her feedback in-hand and brings forth another school curriculum (product), and its rinse repeat.

The board has no say in the curriculum, the CEO does, the board however does have to approve it; the Board has public comment periods, this is how the public makes their opinions known to all, this is full transparency and how boards across the state are designed to work, board members can deliberate and dialog, discuss all in a public forum, even make suggestions, but it has to be 100% clear, they hired a CEO of the school system, and it’s his/her job, not that boards to make these decisions, these are not decisions of the board or any board member.

Someone please forward this to Mahmoud and Kaufman, because they clearly do not understand the difference, if they want to dictate what the school does they should be applying for staff positions at the school, and not running for board positions.

On the other hand, Kwak understands this perfectly.

Well, I had kids in the school system years ago; am I not qualified?

Kaufman sent his kid to private school ’cause he (Kaufman) didn’t like the wrestling coach at RPS; does that disqualify him? Moving your kid to BC to wrestle is ridiculous unless the kid is the best of the best. Most kids will sit on the bench at BC because BC recruits the best wrestlers from the entire state (and lower NY State). Many kids leave BC wrestling program after the first year and return to their home schools because they realize they will never be a starter. D1 schools are allotted a total of 9 scholarships for the entire team meaning the chance of a wrestling scholarship, even if you are cream of the crop, is slim to none.

  24. Fact – Chris Kaufman has a child in the school system. Kwak does not. Shelia had 3 kids go through the entire system.

  25. Anybody with 1/2 a brain can see that James and his cronies are worried about the Board election. Their arguments that Shelia does not CURRENTLY have kids in the schools does not hold a drop of water. Shelia has been a stalwart supporter of our schools for over 30 years. All while serving on the BOE, parent committees, AND – this is the most important part so listen carefully – had 3 kids go through the ENTIRE k-12 RPS system. Read that last part again. Give me a break, James.

    1. Brogan has telling that story for 20 years

  26. Kaufman is SO cocky he only cared about sending his kid there because HE THOUGHT that kid was the best of the best. NO consideration as to how his kid would feel once he got there and sat on the bench. He’s that cocky. He didn’t think of his own kid first. He’s DEFINITELY not thinking of OUR kids first.
    Napoleon syndrome.

  27. What exactly has Brogan achieved during her tenure?

  28. BROGAN has achieved a ton…like a doubling of the budget in 10 years with declining outcomes.

    She needs to go.
