Driver Injured After SUV Crashes Into Building on Broadway in Fair Lawn

Fair Lawn NJ,  a Saturday morning collision at the intersection of Broadway westbound and Plaza Road in Fair Lawn resulted in one person being hospitalized and significant property damage, according to the Fair Lawn Police Department.

The incident occurred on April 5th, when the driver of a dark blue Acura SUV lost control, mounted the curb, and traveled along the sidewalk before crashing into a building located at 24-11 Broadway. The impact caused moderate damage to the structure and also knocked over a bus stop sign nearby.

Emergency Response and Investigation

Fair Lawn EMS responded quickly to the scene, transporting the injured driver to Saint Joseph’s Regional Medical Center. The extent of the driver’s injuries has not been made public.

Fair Lawn Police Department patrol officers arrived at the scene shortly after the crash to begin their investigation and to secure the area. A flatbed tow truck was called to remove the heavily damaged Acura SUV from the scene.

Property Damage and Traffic Impact

The collision caused noticeable damage to the commercial property at 24-11 Broadway, though no additional injuries were reported inside the building. The damaged bus stop sign and sidewalk debris created temporary traffic concerns in the area, but the scene was cleared shortly after the vehicle was removed.

Ongoing Investigation

Authorities have not released details regarding the cause of the crash or whether any citations have been issued. The Fair Lawn Police Department is continuing its investigation into the incident.
