Driver Seriously Injured When Car Crashes Into Tree on Lincoln Avenue in Ridgewood

Ridgewood NJ , The driver of a 4 door sedan was found semi-conscious on the front lawn of a home in the 200 block of Lincoln Avenue in Ridgewood following the crash of his vehicle into a tree on Wednesday afternoon. Ridgewood PD, EMS, and Fire Department personnel, along with paramedics from The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, responded to the scene after being notified of the accident by an off-duty Ridgewood police officer who was in the area at the time of the incident.
The victim was transported by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment. Transmission fluid from the vehicle spilled onto the front lawn of a nearby home; fire department personnel quickly contained the spill. Entry to the vehicle for purposes of conducting a search of its contents was only possible after the “Jaws of Life” were used to open a door. Following the accident, unofficial reports were that the vehicle’s driver would be charged with DUI and possession of a controlled dangerous substance.
