Paramus NJ, a serious crash between a Paramus Police Department Emergency Services Unit (ESU) utility truck and a masonry dump truck shut down a section of Farview Avenue Thursday morning and sent both drivers to local hospitals with injuries.
Both Drivers Hospitalized After Serious Collision
The incident occurred around 8:30 a.m. near Farview Avenue and Farview Terrace as the Paramus PD ESU truck was responding to an emergency call. During the response, the truck collided with a small dump truck, causing significant damage and immediate disruption in the area.
According to Paramus Police Chief Robert Guidetti, the ESU officer was transported to Hackensack University Medical Center for treatment. The dump truck driver was taken to another local hospital. Fortunately, both individuals are reported to have non-life-threatening injuries.
Road Closed for Hours Due to Investigation
The crash led to the closure of Farview Avenue for several hours as a multi-agency team conducted an accident investigation. Responding units included:
