Endless wave of illegal immigrants floods Rio Grande valley

EXCLUSIVE: McALLEN, Texas — Life jackets of all sizes and the occasional punctured raft are strewn along the banks of the Rio Grande, just south of Mission, Texas, where a relentless onslaught of illegal immigrants eagerly surrender to beleaguered Border Patrol agents around the clock.
It’s a cycle for which there is no end in sight.
“You’re going to be out here a long time,” Fernando, an El Salvadoran child, told FoxNews.com shortly after surrendering to Border Patrol authorities after midnight Saturday. “There are thousands of us.”
With most of the men and women charged with securing the Mexican border busy processing some of the 60,000 illegal immigrants who have made the harrowing – and sometimes deadly -journey to the American border in the past nine months, only a handful of Border Patrol agents drive the riverside loop in a small town called Granjeno just south of Mission, in the Rincon peninsula.

Yes, illegals have always been coming in, but tell me when you recall a time when they came in such numbers? I’ll tell you why you can’t answer that. There hasn’t been. No President in history has issued such encouragement for illegals to come over. His party’s underhanded scheme at created more eventual voters has backfired due to a serious humanitarian crisis. Right now, the feeling south of the border is get the hell in, as this might not last. They aren’t deporting.
Why aren’t we putting pressure on the governments of Honduras and Ecuador? The situation there is out of control.
Instead of being in Iraq and Afghanistan we should be training the South American armies to take back control of their countries. The citizens should not be fleeing drug cartels and gangs. Our country has an interest in keeping our boarders safe. We can start by getting South America on the right track.

Everyone in this country, apart from native Americans, comes from immigrant stock. My Italian grandparents didn’t even have passports when they arrived, and they became citizens almost automatically. American immigrant groups also have a long history of complaining about subsequent immigrant groups that follow them, it’s the American way. What ever happened to “Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!” What happened to “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”

I disagree James. My grandparents were sent here as young kids to live with relatives in Hoboken. They had no passports, and became naturalized by virtue of surviving the journey. How can you say these kids will be freeloaders ? Maybe they just want a better life, like so many immigrants to this country who came before them? Everyone posting on this blog is a descendant of an immigrant, so put yourself in their shoes for once.
yes and my grandfather did not get a pair of “Obama Sneakers” , and a promise of free phones , free healthcare , free cable tv and free air conditioning . Aside from the my grandfather was also checked for diseases , and if he had a criminal back ground at Ellis Island after a 6 week boat trip
