Englewood NJ, Firefighters in Englewood Fire Department swiftly responded to a two-alarm fire early Sunday morning, preventing significant damage to nearby businesses. The fire, which broke out at the rear of Prime Automotive on Garrett Place, was brought under control in under an hour, thanks to the rapid efforts of the Englewood Fire Department and mutual aid responders.
Fire Breaks Out Behind Auto Dealership
At approximately 4:04 a.m. on Sunday, flames ignited in outdoor patio furniture and refuse behind Prime Automotive, located at 31 Garrett Place. The fire spread, causing minor damage to the building and several vehicles parked in the rear of the adjacent Subaru of Englewood dealership at 135 S. Dean Street.
Fast Response Minimizes Damage
Englewood Fire Department Captain Themi Mintzas confirmed that the fire was deemed accidental. Mutual aid support from fire departments in Hackensack, Teaneck, and Tenafly was called in to assist in containing the blaze. Firefighters successfully controlled the fire within an hour, limiting its impact on surrounding properties.
Businesses Closed Following Incident
Both Prime Automotive and Subaru of Englewood remained closed on Sunday following the incident. While several vehicles sustained light damage, no injuries were reported.
