FAIR LAWN, NJ – A woman suffered a serious head injury after her white Honda CRV crashed through a wooden guardrail and chain-link fence before plunging off a 12-15-foot retaining wall behind a car wash on Maple Avenue Thursday afternoon, July 24.

The accident occurred at 22-40 Maple Avenue, where the late-model SUV barreled through a protective barrier in the rear of the car wash. After breaching the fence, the vehicle soared off the concrete block wall and landed head-on into the surface below.
???? No Bystanders Injured at Nearby Park
The “landing zone” is part of a popular public park, but fortunately, no park visitors were harmed during the incident.
According to unconfirmed reports, a Fair Lawn police officer on patrol in the park, equipped with body and dash cameras, may have witnessed the crash in real time.
???? Driver Hospitalized with Serious Injuries
Emergency responders rushed to the scene and transported the injured driver by ambulance to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Paterson. A hospital paramedic team accompanied the ambulance to provide advanced care during transit.

???? Investigation & Cleanup
The battered Honda CRV was removed from the scene by a flatbed tow truck. The Fair Lawn Police Department is currently investigating the cause of the crash, including whether medical issues, mechanical failure, or driver error played a role.
