Now, the community is coming together to give back to the man who has spent decades protecting them.

Community Support Makes a Difference

Doug Sadowski, press information officer and longtime friend of Mike Mullins, shared:

“Me and Mike joined the department together in 1988, so this is really hard for me. I’ve known him for 37 years.”

Mullins has one daughter and continues to be an active voice in local fire department initiatives, even while undergoing treatment.

“It’s just a Friday night wing night, but we usually get a great turnout. The general public, our own firefighters, even neighboring departments come out. It definitely eases the burden on the family,” Sadowski added.
