FAIR LAWN, NJ – A major single-vehicle crash late Sunday afternoon, October 12th, left a minivan severely damaged and required a heavy tow, serving as a stark reminder for drivers to exercise caution in wet weather conditions.

The incident occurred in the 1200 block of Saddle River Road in Fair Lawn, when the driver of a Honda Odyssey minivan reportedly lost control of the vehicle. The minivan then slammed head-on into a utility pole, causing extensive front-end damage to the vehicle.

Fortunately, officials on the scene confirmed that no injuries were reported in the dramatic mishap.

Police Investigate Road Conditions as Possible Factor

The Fair Lawn Police Department (FLPD) immediately responded to the crash site to investigate the cause and manage the scene. Early indications suggest that wet road conditions, often a factor in loss-of-control accidents, may have contributed to the crash.

Traffic was temporarily affected as Fair Lawn Police conducted their investigation and worked with recovery teams. A flatbed tow truck was required to remove the heavily damaged Honda from the roadside, restoring normal traffic flow on Saddle River Road.

The Fair Lawn Police Department reminds all motorists to slow down and increase following distance when driving on wet or slick roadways to prevent similar accidents. This is a critical safety reminder as the weather shifts into the late-fall season.
