Fair Lawn NJ, on Friday  you may have seen some “action” on Fair Lawn Avenue (someone even posted Police presence on Facebook warning others ).

Fair Lawn Police responded with a warning to everyone and on behalf of the 2 fatals, 53 pedestrians and 26 bicyclists injured in the last 3 years in crosswalks. YOU will be ticketed. Yesterday’s initiative yielded 53 summons, 43 of them for failure to yield to pedestrians in the crosswalk.

The Department says ,”This is not a “revenue maker” or any other nonsense on why we write summonses. This is for those people that we mentioned above who were killed or hurt. So drivers and pedestrians… use common sense, be alert and stay safe! Let’s get this number to “0” on all ends.”

  1. What are they going to do if something important happens…?

  2. The budget deficit of the entire nation could probably be fixed with a month’s worth of this.

  3. Just another money grab.
Put your phone down and look both ways b4 crossing the street

  4. Just another money grab.
Put your phone down and look while driving

    Fixed it for you.

  5. I hope the police are not given tickets to drivers on pedestrians running off the sidewalk into the crosswalk and expecting drivers to stop immediately.

  6. No pedestrian has ever RUN off the sidewalk onto the crosswalk. Ever.

  7. Id like to see jaywalkers ticketed
