UPDATE: According to Boyd Loving photographer at the scene , an investigation by Fair Lawn PD determined that the two (2) individuals involved in this incident were acquainted. The investigation also revealed that no assault occurred. The male involved was released from Fair Lawn PD headquarters after questioning. No information regarding possible criminal charges was made available.
FAIR LAWN, NJ — A frightening abduction unfolded on Monday, September 1, 2025, after a Fair Lawn woman reported to police that she was being followed by a man in a white four-door sedan near Broadway and Midland Avenue, authorities said.
According to Fair Lawn Police, the woman called for help in the early afternoon, but was allegedly abducted before officers arrived at the scene. She was taken to a building on the 600 block of East 29th Street in Paterson, where she was later located and safely rescued.
Rescue Operation in Paterson
The Passaic County Sheriff’s Department responded to the Paterson location, where they found the victim unharmed. Officers quickly notified Fair Lawn Police, who transported the woman back to her hometown for investigatory purposes.
The white sedan believed to be involved in the incident was discovered parked outside the Paterson building. Fair Lawn detectives were observed photographing the vehicle as part of the ongoing investigation.
Suspect Status
Authorities confirmed the suspect is believed to be known to the victim, though as of press time, it was not immediately clear whether the individual had been apprehended.
Ongoing Investigation
The case remains under joint investigation by Fair Lawn Police and the Passaic County Sheriff’s Department. Officials have not yet released further details.
