Cape May NJ, a very angry Father Offers $10,000 reward for any information leading to Woodbine staff that are responsible for not only these injuries , but the horrific beatings and abuse Louie Berman Jr., sustained at Woodbine Developmental. The father Lou Berman Sr says the facility attempted to cover up the abuse to his autistic son by making up stories about how injuries occurred when it’s clear the injuries are abuse .
Woodbine Developmental Center (WDC), founded in 1921, is located on 250 acres of land in Woodbine, Cape May County. WDC provides a wide range of habilitation, behavioral and medical services and supports to men with developmental disabilities.
Lou Berman Sr runs a organization called Louie’s Voice . The organization exists to help the lives of families & individuals affected by Autism, by providing financial, emotional, & advisory support methods.
In his latest message Lou Sr. says there are leads and they are closing in on the abuser or abusers .
Awful….
I am so angry right along with you!!
Come get me I’ll help you beat the shit out of him, her or them !!
This truly is a monster who did this to your son!! I pray that you find out who did this , they need to be put under the damn jail!!! PERIOD!!😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡
I hope you find whoever did this and pray they are prosecuted to the full extent! Cameras should be a must! They are in every school…why not there?
My Brother was in WDC for 27 years. I knew most of his staff at the cottage my brother was in. I loved the WDC as my own family. They did wonders for my brother. Truly sorry your experience not been as pleasant.
It only takes one bad person to make it bad. The staff were so caring and loving and my family spent a great amount of time there. Sadly my brother pass and it’s a great void because love the staff there. This truly because of one person but WDC staff does God’s Work. Praying for your son and for you and your family. You are not alone . Our hearts go out to your son. Woodbine Families and Friends is a Beautiful Place and have a lot to offer. God Bless.
They need to find out who did this and throw them out in the street so we can kick their ass. Just give me a call my knuckles are ready.
They need to have cameras in every facility and group home. It should be mandated. I don’t understand why it’s not.
I would join others to get this as a law that cameras must be on and recording at all times. There is no excuse.
I would love to have cameras in a group home.
Sorry you and your family have went through this situation. I am a mother of an autistic son and also work in the field. I pray you get the answers you need and the justice LOU deserves. Always remember although we are hurt an angry we cannot stoop to there levels of ignorance. Continue to fight for Justice for Lou without the violence at the end of the day you are trying to protect your son however you are looking like your abusers.
I agree with cameras in this facility & all like it. Unfortunately it only takes a bad apple or 2 to cause havoc. We’re in an era we’re people don’t stand up for what’s right anymore & that’s sad. I know what I would do if it was my child. Keep up the fight. Anyone involved in this should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Our government has been supporting violence & hate with its last administration and unfortunately, it still lingers. That has to stop! Good luck to you.
WOW Awful
Yes definitely surveillance in our group homes, and institutions it should be a must because you can’t trust them these people. Some of the workers are more wacky than the individuals that are in these places. Talk about cuckoo birds.
