Upper Saddle River NJ, according to Derek Michalski the moderator of the Facebook group GreenUSR, “After proposing on this site an Environmental Debate between incumbent Josh Gottheimer and his opponent John McCann reporter from CBS News called and interviewed me for the story. When I announced this on October 13, 2018 I immediately noticed that mud is no longer being pumped into Pleasant Brook/Saddle River. Today I spoke to the same reporter and she confirmed that she has also reached out to NJDEP and NJ Department of Agriculture for comments. Immediately after she spoke to them Roy Otto from Bergen County Soil Conservation Department called me. When I asked him what sparked his sudden interest in our situation after 10 months of NOT RETUTNING ANY CALLS he said “let’s not talk about what caused me to call you””.
“He offered to meet with me on Friday October 19, 2018. He didn’t want to discuss anything over the phone. Will keep you posted. We are scheduled to continue with our interviews with CBS tomorrow. Also other GreenUSR volunteers are scheduled to be interviewed. If Toll Brothers thought it can hide behind the vail of bureaucratic inefficiencies of our corrupt state they are mistaken. Between social media, honest people of N.J. and few good politicians helping us behind the scenes we will prevail and every inch of this mud and every particle of arsenic and lead will have to be removed and properly remediated from our brooks and ponds. They had long 10 months to stop it and they didn’t. They had continued to pum this heavy mud despite of our pleadings to stop. Now the phase two is about to begin: CLEAN UP, INVESTIGATION and potential PUNSHMENT and FINES of ALL perpetrators involved in alleged intentional contamination, potential Clean Water Act violations and possible cover up. Today I was also contacted by FBI Special Agent (..) and I have an appointment scheduled to meet with him/her tomorrow as well. This will be my fourth meeting with FBI on this particular issue. I also met in the past with three other FBI agents who were also interested in the evidence we had gathered in 10 month long GreenUSR community environmental investigation. I don’t think they are only are interested in the gossip about the mud in the brook. But I could be wrong. Time will tell.”
Josh !

Derek, THANK YOU for your hard work on this issue which affects all BC and NJ.
