>FIELDS MEMBER-AT-LARGE NAMED

>Ridgewood resident Jeff Gluck was appointed by the Board of Education to serve as a member-at-large on the Village’s Fields Committee. Gluck will serve a three-year term.

Mr. Gluck’s public comments from the 9/13/2006 Village Council Meeting:

Jeff Gluck, said that he and his wife moved in six years ago. They were very pleased to be able to take advantage of the programs offered for their children at the Glen School. He said that he objects to the use of the field from 7 P.M. to 9 P.M. because this is family time and time to do homework. He stated that as a child he played various sports but when the sun went down, everyone went home and he doesn’tunderstand why that concept has been lost. He said that the policy should be no practicing or games when the sun goes down.

  1. >Back when I was a kid… candy cost 1 penny and I had to wash down the horse and buggy as part of my chores. Right, Pa?

Times have changed. Back when I was a kid, we didnt have laptops and PCs. Shall we ban those now too?

News Alert: Dont tell me what my kid should be doing. If you dont want your children playing sports “after the sun goes down” then keep them home.

Squeaky wheel: Uproar about Glen School fields? So we appt someone from that group. Welcome to the world of the Liberal Elite.

All our kids can play sports after school if you dont mind getting home by 4pm to coach them. Can we see a few residents volunteer for that?

  2. >all i can say is good luck with the maple park its looking like a swamp.what a big mess.you dum, dum,s should of made it at least3.feet higher then the parking lot.and you will never have a problem down the road.you never take dirt out of a low line area,no good.this town does some dum things.and dont tell me its not going to flood.i live arocoss the street for 52,years and its been like more then that.so stop your bull.bad move waste of money.

  3. >From your view across the street, did you notice that there were 50 or so RHS kids playing lacrosse at the wonderful new Maple Field from 3 pm til 6 pm on Friday? Did you notice they were dry? Did you notice that was no water on the field after 15 hours of steady rain? Maybe you should take a break from watching Golden Girls re-runs and support some of the great things going on in this town.

  4. >I LIKE THE FIELD BUT DO YOU THINK WE THE TOWN CAN CLEAN UP AROUND THE FIELD.IT LOOKS GOOD BUT ALL AROUND NEEDS TO BE MADE A BIT NICER TO LOOK AT IF CAN THANK YOU VERYMUCH FOR YOUR TIME.MISS DROUKER.
