A letter from Dr. Fishbein: January 30, 2019
Note correction from earlier version: It’s actually 49 days til Spring!
Dear Parents/Guardians,
Today I am writing to ask that your children dress extra warmly the next few days to withstand the expected frigid conditions that are being forecasted for our area.
Since so many of our children will be walking to and from school or waiting at bus stops, it is critically important that they be outfitted appropriately, with as little skin exposure as possible.
Please note also that while we presume our buses will be running on time, the frigid weather may cause unexpected travel delays.
I leave you with the pleasant thought that Spring is only 49 days away! In the meantime, please stay safe and warm.
Sincerely yours,
Daniel Fishbein, Ed.D
Superintendent of Schools
Fantastic appropriate iconic photo from one of my favorite films. Without a caption it is a Rorschach test for all: My guess it portrays Supt. Fishbein.
Another useless email from a useless Superintendent.
.
I am sure that 100% of the parents in Ridgewood know how to dress their children and keep them safe and warm in this weather.
.
Unfortunately this “problem” is within the capabilities of Superintendent Fishbein. Sadly he is unable to tackle the complex and sophisticated challenges of a large high achieving, academically driven school district. Those “problems” require the attention and leadership of a forward thinking, fearless visionary – characteristics lacking in our current superintendent.
.
So, we are left with these dim-witted pedantic communications.
.
SPRING IS 49 DAYS AWAY

This smells like the same group that voted Kaufman into the BOE and is now having second thoughts. This is nothing but a smear campaign by people hiding under “Anonymous” against Dr. Fishbein.
The group that voted Kaufman into office knew what they were doing. And they were a pretty big group, a solid majority. Kaufman is OK. Leave him alone. I voted for him. No second thoughts. NONE.
This is like when Aronsohn used to call us on reverse 9-1-1 calls to tell us things like “it’s going to rain a lot” or “it will be cold tonight, close your windows.” How stupid does Fishbein think we are?
“This is nothing but a smear campaign by people hiding under “Anonymous” against Dr. Fishbein.”
.
Smear campaign my @$$
.
Fishbein is useless.
.
Tell me what he has done of any significance to improve academics in Ridgewood Schools and get the students ready for their future? What has he done to elevate Ridgewood schools and set them apart from others in the state? the country? the world?
.
He has just presided over the slow decline of Ridgewood schools, while virtue signaling and lecturing parents on how to raise their children and keep them warm on cold days.
.
Useless.
We’d be better off running the show with no superintendent and we’d save a lot of money.
.
Thanks for the value-added weather report. Glad to see we’re getting our money’s worth. You can just ask Alexa you know, right?
“100% of the parents”?? You’re giving GenX’ers way too much credit.
whew! glad I caught his email before my kids walked out the door. a superintendent who adds value.

Go to a Board meeting & find out for yourself what Fishbein has done. Easy to critisize when you don’t have 10 buildings and over 500 staff to manage with 1,500 kids to teach and keep secure from Sept to June. Tell us what town DOESNT’T have a Superintendent of BOE and provide how successful those students were or are….
Look, yet another REA troll defending their own failures under Fishbein and this BOE. Ridgewood parents and taxpayers deserve world class administrators who can provide inspirational leadership for those 500 staff, 1,500 students and ten buildings. Think about this as well: the $110 million BOE budget implies $73,333 in budget per student per year. And yet how little of that actually goes towards educating our children for the challenges they will face as they go out and take on the world? You REA thugs have perverted what was once a “Tradition of Excellence.” You seem to think your mere presence means excellence, when in fact it takes creative, inspirational leadership and hard work.
