The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is creating a $2 million research center to study how the government can “nudge” Americans toward making healthier eating habits.
The agency is currently accepting grant applications to establish a “Center for Behavioral Economics and Healthy Food Choice Research,” which will facilitate studies such as how breaking up combo meals at fast food restaurants would influence customers.
“The USDA Center will facilitate new and innovative research on the application of behavioral economics theory to healthy food choice behaviors that would contribute to enhancing the nutrition, food security, and health of American consumers,” the USDA’s grant announcement said.
The center will be given at least $1.9 million over three years, with the possibility of future funding. Its research will focus on “facilitating food choice behaviors” and improving the diets of Americans enrolled on food stamps and the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program.

Our Bodies Ourselves… Stay out of my stomach
Oh wait, sorry, this only applies to killing babies…
Carry on – force feed me – it’s the government’s right to control my body in that manner.

thanks that did it!
Changing the poor eating habits of Americans will help us all in the long run with lower health care costs. #3, I’m sure you’ll still be able to eat your beef jerky and twinkies if you choose.
Stopping abortions will help us all in the long run #7 by reducing infant murders. As an added bonus, all of us will enjoy lower health care costs due to the reduction in unnecessary medical abortive procedures as well as by the medical advances made by those rescued babies who grew up to make significant contributions to society.
but don’t worry #7 – I’m sure you’ll be able to kill your child if it comes at an inconvenient time for you or cramps your style.
#’s 3 and 8… I’m sure you want to also slash social programs like WIC and are pro capital punishment…just wondering… a simple yes or no will do… Is ALL life precious?
Paul – WTF are you talking about ?
Are you actually equating killing babies to giving money to babies (WIC)?
Are you actually equating saving a baby’s life to taking an adults life?
Why would you “be sure” that someone who wants to stop the murder of children by stoping abortion would want to stop WIC which supports the lives of children (who in many cases would have been the victims of abortion)?
Why would you “be sure” that someone who wants to stop murder (abortion) would want to condone murder (death penalty)?
Sounds like you a blind devotion to ideology has caused damage to the higher logical functioning of your brain, making you so “sure” of these illogical positions.
Also sounds like you are “sure” that killing a defensless baby is just fine.
