  1. Pfund historically favored Valley Hospital, with which he had a business relationship, seemingly over the interests of Village of Ridgewood. Why wouldn’t he continue this kind of behavior as judge? This appointment smacks of political patronage.

  2. Good grief, are you kidding me. Geez.

  3. This was a Municipal Court appointment, mostly local traffic violations and such.
Any other violation cases that might need to be referred are transferred to the County/Superior Court and their Judges.

The Judge’s Law Clerk will check those out first..

  4. #1 you must be kidding.

  5. They must be drinking the KOOL AID over on the Patch.

  6. PFund’s father was on the Valley Board of Trustees and the law firm he worked for represented Valley facts which he omitted to make public during Valley failed attempt to expand …. tisk tisk tisk

  7. funny how the Patch published confidential information before the announcement was made … could get the folks over there in some big trouble

  8. Mr. Pfund knows so many people in town whats he going to do when some of them or there children come before him?

  9. Hack politician. Hack lawyer. now hack judge. Very impressive selection.

  10. Judge Pfund will do a good job in a busy courtroom without being bias I’m certain.
Stay cool guys, you may end up in his court room some day.

I wish him the best and our readers here should do the same.

  11. A great guy who has given a lot back to the town he grew up in. Hopefully he sits on the bench as long as Phil Sheridan did.

  12. I found him arrogant and self-satisfied when I met him about 12 years ago. I hope he parks those qualities when wearing the judicial robes.

  13. Speaking of Valley, Audrey has been very quiet…..she’s probably up to something.

  14. Its not about David it about this Council. In the recent election they promised to be fiscally responsible. To find new ways to share services with other towns. To save money. Are the tax payers of Ridgewood to believe that they did their due diligence and reach out to other towns to see if this service could be shared at a reduced cost . Were there no other Judges with experience interviewed? That’s all we hear from this Council is” We will look into it.” We missed and opportunity. How many more missed opportunity will be missed. Congratulation and good luck David.

  15. Don’t worry the new Council will broker a deal. ( By their own words) O I’m sorry negotiate.

  16. just more bull shit. this is one of the bums that let the lay off happen in ridgewood right.

  17. Hold on #16 cause you haven’t seen anything yet. There is more to come from this Council on the back of the workers.

  18. Unbelievable…only in Ridgewood

  19. Aronsohn couldn’t swing the payback deal to get Wellinghorst the appointment when Pfund showed up. so Aonsohn threw Wellinghorst under the bus and caved for Pfund. Wellinghorst was an opportunist in the Aronsohn style. In the end old Ridgewood trumps the new boy.

  20. And the lights never go out at Seavers Stadium … or so it seems….

  21. #19, are saying there was a pre-existing arrangement between Aronsohn and Wellinghorst? If so, are you saying that Aronsohn had something to do with Wellinghorst’s decision not to run for re-election to the council?

  22. Ok lets connect the dots…..Pfund Valley, Pucciarelli Valley, Hauck Valley and it appears now it’s Aronsohn Valley. I’ve woken up and smelled the coffee. Aronsohn pulled the wool over everyones eyes. He truly is a sleezy politician. I bet he’s meeting with Valley as we speak to broker a deal his team will push it all through. I’ve always liked Walsh but I’m starting to really like Riche now too.

  23. Change you can believe in, both the Council and BOED.

    1. You think #21. Its all just to convenient
