Englewood Cliffs NJ, on February 10th patrol officers took a property damage report from a vehicle owner who parked their Nissan Rogue on West Bayview Avenue in the Borough. The victim stated that she had parked her car in the street earlier in the day. When she later returned, she found that her front and rear passenger tires had been punctured.

A canvass of local businesses and review of area surveillance footage rendered a description of the suspect. Today, 02/11/2022, just after 1:00 pm, headquarters received a call from a witness who observed a male party again causing damage to a vehicle, which was parked in a parking lot adjacent to West Bayview Avenue. Dispatch obtained a description of this party, which matched the description of the suspect involved in the incident the day before. Detectives and several patrol officers responded to the area. Officers soon made contact with Mario Rangel of Fort Lee, NJ, who matched the description of the suspect.

During the course of their field interview, Rangel made statements and was in possession of evidence linking him to the incidents. A witness on scene also positively identified Rangel as the perpetrator. Officers then took Rangel into custody. He was charged with criminal mischief and released on a summons.
