River Edge, NJ – Looking for a unique way to celebrate American history this weekend? On March 8, 2026, the Bergen County Historical Society is hosting a vibrant tribute to George Washington’s Birthday at the legendary Historic New Bridge Landing.
Whether you are a history enthusiast, a fan of colonial music, or looking for a family-friendly educational outing, this event offers a rare glimpse into the Revolutionary War era.
🎭 Live Colonial Dance & Music
The highlight of the afternoon features the Tricorne Dance Ensemble, directed by Denise Piccino. Experience a rhythmic journey through the 18th century with two hour-long programs in the historic 1752 Steuben House.

⚔️ Meet the Revolution
History comes to life outdoors and in! The site will host American Revolutionary Reenactors, who are in high demand this year as the nation prepares for upcoming bicentennial celebrations. It’s a perfect opportunity for photos and to ask questions about life on the front lines.
📜 Rare Artifacts on Display
Inside the Steuben House, the Society will showcase curated Revolutionary War artifacts. A must-see highlight is the Rare 1876 Centennial Quilt, a stunning piece of American folk art and textile history.
