A Glen Rock detective whose job centered on protecting children was arrested Wednesday, accused of sending naked photos of himself to a 14-year-old girl and sexually explicit text messages to another teenage girl, both of whom had been under his supervision, authorities said.
Detective Sgt. Eric Reamy, 51, the borough’s juvenile officer, was arrested at his home in Fair Lawn following a one-month investigation that began when the mother of a 17-year-old girl went to Glen Rock police after finding “inappropriate” messages from the detective on her daughter’s cellphone, Bergen County Prosecutor John Molinelli said.
The investigation led police to a 14-year-old girl who recently moved with her family to Texas, and whose phone was examined Tuesday by Bergen County detectives who traveled there to interview her and her parents, the prosecutor said. Reamy had persuaded the girl to send him naked photos of herself and had sent her “two naked photos of his private part,” Molinelli said.
Reamy has been charged with five counts of endangering the welfare of a child, including one first-degree count, Molinelli said.
Fire him, strip him of his pension and healthcare, and leave him in jail to rot
This type of evil…if it isn’t demonic possession, one struggles to imagine what is. Is a normal lawman asked to assume these duties susceptible to being drawn into this behavior? It’s as if it violates the soul…
Guy has been a problem for years. Long before people sent photos by cellphones and computers. It is sick that it took this long for him to get caught but I am glad that at least he will get justice before he was able to retire.

I am the biological mother of the 14 year old girl. This was a shameless act which has damaged and torn apart our family. I was the last to know about this case, because I am up here living in Jersey at this time. The “mother” you mentioned is NOT their real one.This has ruined my reputation, even though she was under the care of her dad and stepmother.
Over Christmas, before his arrest in 2014, her cousins saw the pictures had begun to turn up on her phone. My sister confronted me about it, and the rumors spread to the rest of my family in Arkansas when I went for a visit to my family. Both her and her sister are very afraid of my side of the family in Arkansas and do not wish to return to see them for fear of backlash and conflict. She and I are having to go to extensive counseling, and with me having a severe seizure condition, it nearly killed me in August after I was informed of the arrest. She has been hospitalized numerous times for this, because of suicidal thoughts. Reamy has taken her innocence away, and her trust for others. My condition has declined once again and I am having to listen to this stuff over and over again. I have no lawyer helping me, because no one will help me, and lawyers even said that they do not wish to help me with this case. It is very shocking and extremely sad for both girls involved.
He is a monster, and I hope to see him punished to the fullest extent. House arrest is NOT ENOUGH. His sentence starts in September of 2016. The incident has caused my daughter and myself PTSD–and with my epilepsy, I had to go through a brain surgery because of my declining neurological health. It is an absolute shame that the media found out first, and I was THE LAST ONE TO FIND OUT. Shame on this monster, and the Glen Rock Police Department for not having informed me of this sooner. Reamy is getting off way too easily,using every bit of power to hurt my daughter and the other girl.
