Glen Rock NJ, on Saturday March 27th at 11:18 a.m. Glen Rock Police Patrols were dispatched to a residence on the 100 block of Rutland Road in response to an alleged altercation in progress. Upon arrival officers found that a 44-year-old Glen Rock man had become involved in a dispute with a contractor, a 41-year-old Linden man, over work done at the Glen Rock man’s home which was not to his satisfaction. The Glen Rock man subsequently refused to pay a remaining balance owned to the contractor. Both were advised that this was a civil matter, not a criminal matter, which would need to be resolved by filing a civil action at the Superior Court in Hackensack to resolve the issue of payment.
Officers did not witness any physical contact between the two men. Nor were any injuries reported. They were both advised of their right to sign civilian complaints with the Glen Rock Municipal Court for assault if they so desired.
Pay the guy and move on.
They should’ve hired Bob Vela.
Too many scamming contractors who cheat, cut corners and disappear. Too many homeowners who jump into a project without performing due diligence, having a detailed plan or adequately explained project requirements to a contractor. In other words, court will work it out.
If you don’t get it in writing its a problem for both.
Get a copy of their insurance from their broker.
Be careful with the change orders.
Hire Mickey Mouse contractors and you get Mickey Mouse work.
A step-by-step, a little at a time. Immediately if you don’t like their performance quality stop the job.
“Pay the guy and move on.”
WHY? If the work was sub-standard, the homeowner should SUE the slimebag contractor into the ground!
Makes me want to get a contractor’s license and do work at this guy’s house and just get paid for crap work!
