Glen Rock NJ, the Glen Rock Education Association (GREA) and the Board of Education have successfully reached a four-year contract agreement, bringing an end to negotiations that began last winter. The new contract, which is retroactive to July 1, 2024, provides teachers with a modest salary increase each year and ensures stability in the district through June 2028.
According to district officials, the agreement includes a 3.6% salary increase in the first year, followed by a 3.5% increase in both the second and third years, and a 3.4% increase in the final year. Additionally, salaries for co-curricular advisors and coaches will see a 3% increase in the first year and a 2% increase in the second year, with no further increases in the third and fourth years.
Dr. Damali Robinson, president of the Glen Rock Board of Education, praised the negotiations, noting that they were conducted in a “positive and collaborative atmosphere.” She emphasized that the agreement strikes a balance between supporting the district’s dedicated staff and responsibly managing taxpayer resources.
GREA President Lisa Tomaselli expressed satisfaction with the contract, highlighting its importance for both teachers and the community. “We love teaching the children of Glen Rock and supporting our families,” Tomaselli said. “This contract allows for that and provides a longer period of stability between the BOE and the GREA. A special thank you to lead negotiator Kathleen Walter and the GREA negotiations team.”
The new agreement is seen as a significant step forward for Glen Rock schools, ensuring that teachers are fairly compensated while maintaining a strong partnership between the district and its educators.
