Glen Rock NJ, the Glen Rock Council announced that the town pool will not open this season. The pool committee which included Councilmembers Mary Barchetto,  Amy Martin, and Robert Dill, decided, for the safety of both the patrons and staff, it was best not to open this year.

According to the pool committee the factors used to make the decision were that other local pools that are opening have much larger grounds than the Glen Rock Pool. The size of our grounds do not lend themselves to social distancing. Also there was a feeling that there would be increase in burnout due to multiple duties now required and  the Glen Rock Office of Emergency Management and Pool Manager, as well as the Director of Parks and Recreation all advised against opening

  1. They have a very nice pool.

  2. Responsible decision… unlike our Village Council. We’re going to lose hundreds of thousands of taxpayer funds reopening Graydon to benefit very few local families. But par for the course from Village Council members who think Schedler is more important than the cleanliness of the CBD. Ridgewood is run by a maven of Karen’s…

  3. Yeah the town’s priorities appear to have been hijacked by a noisy few. That house is nothing but a money pit.

  4. My concern is that we are spending foolish and money on opening the pool. They know that they’re going to lose money. Don’t tell us down the road and say that we have a fiscal budget problem.

  7. Glen Rock announced through a message on the Borough website that the Municipal Pool would remain closed for the 2020 season.

“As elected officials it is our duty to protect the safety of our Residents and pool staff, as well as minimize the financial impact to the Borough, and we believe this was the responsible decision,” read the message.

  10. James, why don’t you explain to your readers that this Village Council has passed up multiple opportunities to stop the garagezilla and high density construction?

Why aren’t you being honest with your readers? What do these Karen’s have on you?
