Glen Rock NJ, As you are aware, our contractors have been continuing their work on the County of Bergen’s Resurfacing Project (entire lengths of Rock Road Maple Avenue).
PA Contractor’s schedule, in general is as follows:
- Mobilization into Borough of Glen Rock (Post-Memorial Day)
- Phase #1: Rock Road (from Lincoln Avenue to Maple Avenue)
- Then onto Phase #2: Rock Road (from Maple Avenue to Prospect Street)
- Then, Phase #3: Maple Avenue (from Rock Road to Harristown Road)
- When Maple, south-bound (Rock Road, to Harristown Road) has been complete, the contractor will remove and replace sidewalk ramps on Maple Avenue’s north-bound (Ridgewood-bound) side of the roadway.
- And last, Phase #4: Maple Avenue (from Rock Road, to Ridgewood Village border)
The remaining work schedule is as follows:
- Phase #1: Rock Road (from Lincoln Ave, to Maple Ave.)
- CURRENTLY: Week of 8/5/19 to 8/9/19:
- Traffic Marking Contractor:
- has started laying out the traffic marking restorations including yellow centerlines, parking spaces in Central Business District, No Parking Zones, Stop bars, crosswalks, etc.
- and is scheduled to repaint on Wednesday, 8/7/19
- PLEASE TAKE NOTE: There WILL BE LIMITED PARKING ACCESS THROUGHOUT THE CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT until the Parking Spaces have been painted and reopened.
- Concrete Contractor:
- Minor restoration works are required.
- Traffic Marking Contractor:
- CURRENTLY: Week of 8/5/19 to 8/9/19:
- Phase #2: Rock Road (from Maple Avenue, to Prospect Street)
- CURRENTLY: Week of 8/5/19 to 8/9/19:
- Paving Contractor:
- Currently making Full Depth Pavement Repairs in order to correct the roadway damage from this weekend’s storm. (Approximately 35 homes, throughout this section, experiences erosion damage due to the 2” rainfall & stormwater run-off)
- The Storm event has extended the Paving Project another 1-3 days (instead of the 1 remaining day, previously planned)
- Hence, we anticipate Rock Road (from Maple Avenue, to Ackerman Avenue) to be completed Monday afternoon, or Tuesday.
- And, Rock Road (from Ackerman Avenue, to Prospect Avenue) to be completed Tuesday/ Wednesday (Weather pending)
- Concrete Contractor to:
- Should have the Hamilton Avenue Triangle Permanent Road Closure Project completed
- Minor restoration works are required on residents’ frontages, throughout the remaining work zone
- Paving Contractor:
- CURRENTLY: Week of 8/5/19 to 8/9/19:
- Phase #3: Maple Avenue (from Rock Road, to Harristown Road)
- CURRENTLY: Through the week of 8/5/19 to 8/9/19:
- Paving Contractor:
- Is “ON HOLD” until Rock Road is fully reopened
- Concrete Contractor to:
- Minor restoration works are required on residents’ frontages, throughout the remaining work zone
- Paving Contractor:
- CURRENTLY: Through the week of 8/5/19 to 8/9/19:
- And last, Phase #4: Maple Avenue (from Rock Road, to Ridgewood Village border)
- Concrete Contractor:
- Should be completed with all sidewalk ramp replacements (finishing up at Central School, Library & Hamilton Avenue Triangle Road Closure)
- Afterwards, minor restoration works are required on residents’ frontages, throughout the remaining work zone.
- Paving Contractor:
- Is “On Hold” until Rock Road is fully reopened. Then, Maple Avenue (from Harristown Road, to Rock Road will be done first)
- Concrete Contractor:
- We want to remind you that Tilcon (Bergen County’s Road Dept. Paving Contractor) will continue to post “Advance Notice” signs for the project to help inform residents of the upcoming work.
- Our Goal is to have all roadwork (Concrete, Milling, Paving and Line Stripping) completed before the start of the 2019-2020 school year.

How come they are stopping paving on Maple Avenue at the Ridgewood border.Why is Ridgewood last town in the county to get there roads repaired and paved. Something is going on.
