Paramus NJ, just in time for Valentine’s day , Godiva has announced it is closing all of its U.S. locations as in-store visits for its luxury chocolate dip during the coronavirus pandemic.
The company plans to shutter its 128 locations in North America, which includes 11 in Canada, by the end of March. You will however, still be able to purchase them online as well as at grocery and other stores. The company, founded in Belgium, said in a statement that demand for in-person shopping “waned as a result of the pandemic and its acceleration of changes in consumers’ shopping behavior.” The store closings come less than two years after Godiva announced a large expansion plan in April 2019 to open 2,000 cafes around the world in six years.

It had always been overpriced, but once the company was sold, the list of ingredients became far too long and the chocolate became inedible. Haven’t bought it in many years.
I’m by Hershey’s.
