Albany NY, Governor Andrew Cuomo made at the end of his daily COVID-19 press briefing on Thursday ruffled so many feathers. Saying chicken wings do not count as “food”. The lowest level of substantive food is “sandwiches”. Soup is mentioned as real food, and chicken wings are not.
So according to the Governor of the State of New York, sandwiches are substantive, chicken wings are not. Worse yet because Western New York, is the birth place of the chicken wing, it’s not up for debate: wings are indeed a meal.
Governor Cuomo said chicken wings are not substantial food for bars to be allowed to sell alcohol. He added that sandwiches were the “lowest level” of substantive food. His comments: More than just hors d’oeuvres, chicken wings. You had to have some substantive food — the lowest level of substantive food were sandwiches,” said Cuomo.
