Governor Phil Murphy Lifts The State’s Stay-at-Home Order

Governor Phil  Murphy announces an order to lift state’s stay-at-home order; increasing limit on gatherings.

The state’s stay-at-home order that has been in place since March 21.

Effective immediately :

1) indoor gatherings permitted at 25% of building capacity or 50 people – whichever number is lower.
2) limit on outdoor gatherings raised to 100 people.
3) Murphy says order allows for greater indoor religious services
4) Murphy says order explicitly allows gatherings of 100+ people for First Amendment-protected activities – including protests or religious services.
5) Murphy anticipates raising non-protest/non-religious activity limit to 250 people on June 22, 500 people on July 3. Says school districts should prepare a 500-person limit by when graduations can resume July

The Order authorizes opening of pools on June 22nd and the order authorizes outdoor recreational/entertainment businesses that were closed, except amusement parks, water parks and arcade.
