>Greenwich CT has a hospital

Greenwich CT has a hospital set right in a residential area of town. Houses on all 4 sides of the building. Pull it up on Google Maps – 5 Perryridge Road, Greenwich CT 06830.

From the Greenwich Hospital website: Greenwich Hospital is a 174-bed regional hospital, serving Fairfield County, Connecticut and Westchester County, New York. It is a major academic affiliate of Yale University School of Medicine and a member of the Yale New Haven Health System.

Since opening in 1903, Greenwich Hospital has evolved into a progressive medical center and teaching institution with an internal medicine residency.

We represent all medical specialties and offer a wide range of medical, surgical, diagnostic and wellness programs. High quality care, coupled with Greenwich Hospital’s convenient location, are reasons many patients choose to be treated here.

As for additions, Greenwich Hospital  just recently completed a 150,000 sq ft expansion.

However according to US News and World Report (https://health.usnews.com/best-hospitals) Greenwich Hospital is substantially smaller and less busy than Valley Hospital. Perhaps that is why it fits in so well. If Valley were to reduce to Greenwich’s size by letting Pascack reopen and scaling back their size, I’d be delighted to support reconstruction to switch to all one-patient rooms.

Valley Hospital
446 beds.
30,878 admissions latest year
8,276 annual inpatient surgeries9,629 outpatient surgeries.
72,085 emergency room visits.

Greenwich Hospital
174 beds.
11,082 admissions latest year.
2,251 inpatient surgeries
7,141 outpatient surgeries.
43,285 emergency room visits.

Question:
Would you call Greenwich a “city” or “town”?
I’d call it one of the most beautiful, exclusive and respected towns in the whole country. Guess the whole idea of Hospitals and exclusive towns being mutually exclusive is bunk.
