Hackensack NJ, In a major victory for local public safety, the Hackensack Police Department’s Crime Suppression Bureau has taken a dangerous arsenal and a significant amount of narcotics off the streets. Following a targeted investigation, 36-year-old Terrell T. Loyd was arrested on January 22, 2026, facing a laundry list of high-level weapons and drug charges.
The raid, which involved multiple search warrants, uncovered items that Police Chief Michael Antista described as a stark reminder of the “dangers officers face every day.”
The Evidence: Guns, Drums, and Armor-Piercing Rounds
When detectives and officers executed search warrants on Loyd’s apartment and a local self-storage unit, they discovered a sophisticated criminal setup. The items seized included:
-
Firearms: Four handguns, including a defaced Taurus G2C 9mm pistol.
-
Tactical Ammo: Hundreds of rounds of ammunition, including armor-piercing rounds.
-
Illegal Hardware: A 9mm magazine with a 30-round drum attachment and several other illegal high-capacity magazines.
-
Narcotics: Approximately one kilogram of cocaine with a street value of nearly $18,600.
-
Distribution Tools: A kilo press, packaging materials, and over $12,000 in cash suspected to be drug proceeds.
Serious Charges and Legal Fallout
Loyd, a Hackensack resident, is now facing severe legal consequences. He has been processed and remanded to the Bergen County Jail. His charges include:
-
1st-Degree Possession of CDS with Intent to Distribute.
-
2nd-Degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose.
-
2nd-Degree Money Laundering.
-
Multiple additional counts related to illegal magazines and narcotics.
Note: These charges are accusations; the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
A Collaborative Effort for Community Safety
This successful operation wasn’t a solo effort. Chief Antista extended his gratitude to the Bergen County Regional SWAT team and Bergen County Sheriff Officer Dario Terrano, along with his K-9 partner, Armani, for their vital roles in the search.
“Removing these drugs and guns makes our community safer,” said Chief Antista. “I commend the Crime Suppression Bureau for their hard work and dedication.”

Thank a democrat today!
As a firm believer in the second amendment, there is NO REASON for a civilian to have
armor piercing ammo.
