This just in.. Village Holiday party will be better than ever!!!
The Village Holiday party for town employees will be bigger and better this year than ever before. This event, which in previous years was completely subsidized by personal donations from Mayor Killion and Deputy Mayor Riche, will now be sponsored by the Democratic Party. After a successful Democratic sweep by Aronsohn, his party cronies, who were major contributors during his campaign, will become major sponsors to Village events. Rumor has it that there will be pony rides, magicians and even a special guest appearance by George Clooney and Sean Penn. Oh boy!!! A grand time will be had by all.
The annual holiday party has all but disappeared in the private sector due to cost considerations.
No party, 0% raise and lay offs. Get ready Village workers.

And that person that post that we more people in the DPW has a snowballs chance in hell to get more . In fact they may loose people.
we have no one to lay off jerk off.all dept’s are down to a danger level that will and hurt the service’s in the village. they can lay off in the fire and police dept’s,that’s about it.and yes it’s all most time to party. after july 1.

How about wishing the new council well instead of just cursing them out? Your negativity is what’s wrong with America…
I agree with #7 above. I do wish them well. Wishing they will be successful in all (or even some) of the pledges they made as candidates is wishing a positive outcome for all in town , isn’t it?
I also expect them to hold true to those promises and if they do not, then we all need to stay on them to do the things they pledged, which is what put them in office.
The hard reality though is that we have been running an unsustainable model here for a long time now, and it’s time to change that and focus on getting the basics fixed like infrastructure that is falling apart all over town.
The current VC (and BOE) found “magic money” for lightning detection systems and all kinds of other things that — while perhaps are nice to have if you have unlimited bucks – are not nearly as impt to me as having decent streets, curbs, working storm drains, sewers and other “mundane” stuff. Though maybe not as sexy as all the extras, that stuff affects nearly everyone in town every day. Yet those things have been badly neglected for years — and all the while money was found for all kinds of other projects.
Meanwhile, taxes go up-up-up, money is also found for retro raises and bonuses, and yet there’s never any money to fix the basics. I really hope the new group will give some long needed attention to that.

What’s wrong with America is hack career politicians pushing personal agendas rather than being public servants.
What’s right with America is the freedom to criticize the elected.
Privatize the DPW . Get rid of the Civil Servants that are sucking the town dry with their sick day , 60 vacation days and their disabilities that cost the residents. Go get new them council. Don’t forget the Police and Fire.
