Ridgewood NJ, Eric Zhou a 7th grader at George Washington Middle School is part of a robotics team called the Eagles. They are a group of innovators ranging from the ages 9-to 13 and they are competing in the First Lego League competition. This year, the team came in first place in the Mount Olive regional competition. Then, they came in second place in the NJ state competition. Because they came in second place, they were invited to an event called the FLL Razorback Invitational.
The Razorback Invitational takes place on May 19-22, at the University of Arkansas. The Eagles are one of 80 teams competing. However, the trip to Arkansas is very expensive. They need to pay for plane tickets, a $1,000 registration fee, and other expenses.
The team started a GoFundMe to help cover part of the cost. The team hopes that as many people as possible will donate, every bit helps.
