Ho-Ho-Kus Names Linda Bovino-Romeo as New Superintendent

Ho-Ho-Kus NJ, Linda Bovino-Romeo has been appointed as the new superintendent of the Ho-Ho-Kus School District, effective July 1. Currently serving as Director of Curriculum and Instruction for Mahwah Township Public Schools, Bovino-Romeo will step into the role following the retirement of Diane Mardy, who has dedicated over 40 years to the district, including the last 10 years as superintendent.

An Accomplished Leader with Local Roots

Bovino-Romeo brings a wealth of experience in education, having previously served as a teacher in New Milford, as well as an assistant principal and principal in the Mahwah school district.

Adding to the significance of her appointment, Bovino-Romeo is a proud graduate of Ho-Ho-Kus School and Northern Highlands Regional High School. She holds:

  • A Bachelor of Arts degree,
  • A Master of Science in Education, and
  • A Doctorate in Language, Literacy, and Learning from Fordham University.

She also earned a Master of Arts in Administrative Leadership from Fairleigh Dickinson University.

Board of Education President Mary Ellen Nye expressed confidence in Bovino-Romeo’s ability to uphold the district’s legacy of academic excellence while guiding it into the future.

“Our goals in searching for our next superintendent were to ensure the continuation of the academic excellence and the thriving character-based community that have been the hallmarks of Dr. Mardy’s career in Ho-Ho-Kus and to set the district on an exciting path into the future,” said Nye.

“We are confident that Dr. Bovino shares our goals and has the qualifications and dedication to achieve them. We are excited to welcome Dr. Bovino home to Ho-Ho-Kus to begin the next chapter of our school’s history together.”
