Leonia, N.J. – Nov. 19, 2025 Bergen Equestrian Center (BEC), home to Bergen County’s first equine emotional wellness center, Our Stable Life, is excited to offer Holiday Photos with a Horse for the first time. Reserve your spot for holiday photos, where you can choose props ranging from wreaths and Santa hats to Hanukkah decorations—whatever you celebrate!
Horses will be available for photos on Sunday, December 7, from 11 AM to 4 PM. A donation of $35.00 is requested, and all proceeds will support free programs for individuals facing life challenges who are in need of equine therapy, visit www.bergenequestrian.com/
Bergen Equestrian Center is located in Overpeck Park in Leonia, New Jersey, just 10 minutes from the George Washington Bridge. Our Stable Life is an equine-facilitated therapy program founded by Bergen County resident Anna Gassib, an Associate Counselor specializing in equine therapy, trauma, Gestalt, and Person-Centered therapies. Anna and her team of professionals offer customized workshops designed by a caring and skilled group of mental health experts to assist those struggling with trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder, domestic violence, victims of crime, emotional or relationship issues, addiction, grief, loss, and more.
Our Stable Life is a respected wellness center focusing on mental health and emotional well-being. They work with individuals and organizations such as the Women’s Rights Information Center, Bergen Family Center, Bergen County Spring House (a halfway house for those recovering from addictions), and Covenant House of Newark.
Our Stable Life:
Established in 2012, Our Stable Life is a 501(c)(3) organization that provides non-riding equine treatment and therapy programs for individuals and groups. These programs focus on prevention, education, healing, and assisted recovery. Our Stable Life partnered with Columbia University Irving Medical Center in creating the Man O’ War Project which is the use of and scientifically evaluate equine assisted therapy to treat and help veterans and individuals who suffer from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) or other mental health problems. All of the programs at Our Stable Life are guided by qualified professionals for individuals of all ages. The therapeutic benefits of Equine Therapy for individuals and families dealing with life challenges such as anxiety, isolation, addiction, loss of a loved one, phobias, adults, young adults or children with special needs and those suffering from symptoms of PTSD. Our Stable Life will design a program for anyone needing intervention and healing. The grace of a horse enriches the body, mind, and spirit, resulting in true healing. The Bergen County Equestrian Center, established in 1974, is a multi-service horse facility on 22 acres of landscaped land, providing a home for over 75 horses at Overpeck County Park in Leonia, New Jersey (minutes away from the GWB.) Amenities include:
