Glen Rock NJ, Glen Rock police discuss how diversion burglaries work and whats residents should watch out for.

Last year the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office issued a warning to residents following a rise in diversion burglaries.

The prosecutor’s office said residents should be careful who they allow on their property, with thieves more frequently posing as utility workers. Officials said more than a dozen diversion burglaries have been reported in the county in the past few weeks.

In most of the scenarios, a thief impersonating a utility worker distracts the homeowners while an accomplice enters the home to take what he can.

This WMBC-TV news video spells out the details .

Your poll is suspect. It has been hacked or is written to allow ballot stuffing.
    .
    1) Current vote count is: 28,782
    Yes 61.43% (17682 votes)
    No 38.57% (11100 votes)
    .
    2) population in Ridgewood (from most recent census) is 24,958 with 30.7% under the age of 18.
that is LESS than the current poll total.
Even assuming population growth brought Ridgewood population to 29,000 the poll results would assume that EVERONE in Ridgewood (including newborn babies) voted in the Ridgewood blog poll.
    .
    3) I was just able to vote again and increased the vote count by +1
    .
Poll is useless unless fixed to limit to at minimum 1 vote per IP address. (still not fperfect but will greatly reduce ballot stuffing)
