Newark NJ, officials reported that a plane traveling from Nova Scotia, Canada, to Newark Liberty International Airport received a midflight threat on Monday.
Air Canada flight 8657 departed from Halifax Stanfield International Airport in Canada at approximately 11 a.m. The threat was received around noon, just 10 minutes before the plane was scheduled to land at Newark. Despite the threat, the flight landed safely at around 1:40 p.m., and all passengers disembarked without any reported injuries.
Following standard procedure, the Port Authority Police Department and its canine unit conducted a thorough inspection of the aircraft around 3 p.m. The plane was subsequently cleared for normal operations.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.
