Ho-Ho-Kus NJ, a black Jeep Compass sustained significant front-end damage after the driver reportedly fell asleep at the wheel and crashed head-on into a utility pole on Racetrack Road late Thursday afternoon, May 15.
The accident occurred in the 300 block of Racetrack Road, causing an immediate response from Ho-Ho-Kus Police Department, Ho-Ho-Kus Volunteer Fire Department, and Ho-Ho-Kus EMS.
Driver Transported to Valley Hospital
Emergency responders provided on-site assistance before transporting the driver to The Valley Hospital. Officials say the driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
Power Outage Affects Over 400 Residents
The impact of the crash caused damage to the utility pole, resulting in a temporary electricity outage for 421 PSE&G customers in the area. Power restoration efforts began shortly after the incident.
Vehicle Towed from Scene
A flatbed tow truck was required to remove the heavily damaged Jeep from the scene. Firefighters worked to mitigate any potential fire or hazardous conditions while police directed traffic and assessed the crash.
Ongoing Investigation
