Ridgewood NJ, The Village Council is looking for residents who are interested in volunteering to serve on the following Boards and Committees: The Central Business District Advisory Committee and the Zoning Board of Adjustment, and the Planning Board.
All interested residents must fill out a Citizen Volunteer Leadership form (found on the Village website under “Forms”, page 2, Village Clerk), and send it along with a cover letter indicating on which board(s) or committee(s) the resident wishes to serve and why he/she has chosen these board(s) or committee(s), and a biography or resume to:

The Central Business District Advisory Committee (CBDAC) will work with the Village Council, business owners and residents to evaluate and initiate enhancements to improve the viability of the CBD, including traffic flow and patterns, parking, pedestrian safety and the balance of commercial uses; while maintaining and refining the historic and aesthetic elements to create a more desirable, vibrant and memorable destination for all visitors.
The Zoning Board of Adjustment hears variance applications and appeals from rulings and determinations arising from the enforcement of Village zoning ordinances.
The Planning Board reviews site plans and subdivision applications; prepares, adopts, and amends the Master Plan; makes recommendations to the Village Council regarding amendments to developmental regulations and the official map.

I’m there volunteering and right next to me is an overly compensated village employee with a pension and you want me do do this for FREE?

why go through the trouble, only the inner circle is ever picked.
This is just to show that village is open to the public. Instead all deals are directed and sealed by the interested parties such as restaurant owners, developers, architects, builders etc. These committees are nothing but smoke and screen.
