Ridgewood NJ,Despite the imminent arrival of Hurricane Sandy, a Village of Ridgewood Streets Department leaf collection vacuum truck crew was seen hard at work on South Irving Street on Monday morning and early Monday afternoon. And to top it off, these men all had big smiles on their faces, regardless of the drenching rain and high winds. What a great bunch of hard working guys!

Hats off to them.
Our service guys are the best but I am wondering: the same village officials who tell us not to go outside or drive are the same ones who ordered these men to go out an clean up leaves.
So, is it dangerous to be out or not??
yes the leaf crews are doing a great job. I know in the past few day’s they have been cleaning up street’s in low line ares. a big help thank’s to them. now the manager needs to thank them. but will he and the mayor and council.???.
Great work. The leaf collection was being done long before the serious weather came in. Clearing even the leaves will be helpful when you think how much additional debris may be in the streets tomorrow.
Leaves block drains. They were urged by Christie to clear leaves to minimize potential blockage of storm drains and the flooding that would ensue.
My house interior drains have been very slow after Hurricane Sandy. Does this mean that storm drain is clogged ? and if so who do I call to unclog it?
