Ridgewood NJ, a former IRS contract employee, Charles Littlejohn, unlawfully obtained the tax return data of over 1,000 high-income individuals and transmitted the documents to ProPublica and the New York Times. These publications subsequently released the confidential information, labeling it as a “vast treasure trove of tax data” to support their assertion that wealthy individuals are undertaxed.

Each action undertaken by Littlejohn constituted a deliberate and flagrant violation of IRS privacy regulations. Preserving the confidentiality of tax return data is crucial for upholding the integrity of the tax system.

Our standpoint is that Littlejohn received a lenient sentence. Under the oversight of Biden’s DOJ, Littlejohn was permitted to plead guilty to a single felony count despite committing thousands of infractions. Judge Ana Reyes expressed disdain, denouncing his actions as “an intolerable assault on our constitutional democracy” and imposing the maximum five-year sentence, from which Littlejohn is currently appealing.

The left portrays Littlejohn not as a criminal but as a “whistleblower” and a champion. Slate contends that the true injustice lies in the tax system’s perceived favoritism towards the wealthy.

This incident exemplifies the selective ethics of some liberals who justify breaking laws in pursuit of what they deem to be a righteous cause. It raises concerns about potential future actions, such as sabotage or violent confrontation, under the guise of moral righteousness.

  1. But was he right? Setting aside your own situational indignation and invoking of meaningless political shibboleths, did he demonstrate what he set out to prove?

Obviously the issue here is not that he leaked tax returns of “wealthy individuals”; primarily it’s because he leaked Donald Trump’s tax returns, a salient piece of information strangely (or not) omitted from this hard-hitting journalism. Selective ethics all around.

    1. ah another Fascist Pig !
