LEONIA, NJ — A woman is in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle in the early hours of July 10, according to a statement from the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office.
At approximately 4:35 a.m., the Leonia Police Department responded to a report of an unconscious pedestrian near Grand Avenue and Ames Avenue. Upon arrival, officers discovered a woman lying on the side of the road with injuries consistent with being hit by a vehicle.
The unidentified victim was quickly transported to Hackensack University Medical Center, where she remains in critical condition. Authorities have not yet released details regarding the vehicle involved or whether the driver remained at the scene.
An investigation is ongoing. Officials urge anyone with information related to the incident to contact the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office or Leonia Police Department.
