Prospect Park NJ, a large house fire broke out in Prospect Park on Wednesday afternoon, prompting a multi-agency emergency response. The Prospect Park Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched at 3:33 PM to a possible house fire near North 11th Street and Fairview Avenue. Upon arrival, the Chief of Department confirmed a working fire at 265 North 11th Street, with flames rapidly spreading to neighboring homes at 263 and 267 North 11th Street.
Escalation and Firefighting Efforts
With heavy fire conditions and exposure risks, the Chief quickly escalated the response, calling for second and third alarms. Crews arrived to find the rear of the structures fully involved, requiring aggressive efforts to contain the spread.
At approximately 3:39 PM, the Hawthorne Fire Department’s Squad 3 and Truck 2 were deployed to the scene. Squad 3 focused on fire attack and exposure protection, while Truck 2 assisted in opening up walls and securing utilities. Firefighters discovered flames running behind the siding of an adjacent structure, necessitating extensive overhaul to ensure no hidden hotspots remained.

No injuries were reported, thanks to the swift actions of firefighters. The firefighting effort was supported by multiple mutual aid companies, including:
