Milltown NJ, at the Milltown Mel Groundhogs Day Celebration 2019. At 7:45 am this morning Milltown Mel saw his shadow predicting 6 more weeks of winter .

Residents assembled far and wide to see if local groundhogs were in agreement this Groundhog Day 2019 . Punxsutawney Phil, the world’s most famous groundhog, did not see his shadow Saturday morning, Feb. 2, and predicted an early spring.

The same scene played out at the Staten Island Zoo in New York, where a furry groundhog named Staten Island Chuck was in agreement with Phil with a verdict of early spring. Milltown Mel in the tiny New Jersey borough of Milltown predicted 6 more weeks of winter .
