Elmwood Park NJ, a serious multi-vehicle collision on westbound Broadway in Elmwood Park late Sunday afternoon, June 29, temporarily shut down a portion of the roadway and required emergency crews to use the Jaws of Life to extricate a trapped occupant.

First responders from multiple agencies were dispatched to the scene, including:

Fair Lawn Rescue Squad

Bergen County EMS
Two individuals sustained injuries in the crash and were transported to local area hospitals via separate ambulances. Their current conditions have not been publicly disclosed.

A Hyundai KONA, from which a person had to be extricated using hydraulic rescue tools.

A Honda Accord coupe
Both vehicles sustained significant damage and were towed from the scene.
