Elmwood Park NJ , a stubborn, multiple-alarm fire broke out on Sunday afternoon, April 27, devastating several structures on Phillip Avenue, just east of River Drive.
According to officials, the intense blaze completely destroyed at least one two-car garage and heavily damaged multiple sheds and smaller garages. A garaged automobile was also consumed by the flames. Nearby, a single-family home suffered exterior damage due to the extreme heat radiating from the fire.
Massive Emergency Response
Firefighters and EMTs from Elmwood Park Fire Department and Elmwood Park EMS were quickly on the scene, with vital support from numerous neighboring municipalities. The Elmwood Park Police Department also responded and assisted with the emergency efforts.
The rapid mutual aid response helped contain the fire and prevent further damage to adjacent homes and structures.
Cause Under Investigation
Authorities have confirmed that the cause of the fire remains under investigation. No injuries have been reported at this time.
